GILPIN COUNTY CLERK SAHARI McCORMICK BUSTED!
Hi all! Last-minute update on my experience being police escorted out of the Historic Courthouse after your esteemed (?) County Clerk, Sahari McCormick, dismissed me - unjustly, as I was only asking to see the ballot envelope signatures in my service as a Watcher for Signature Verification!
There is good news and bad news…
GOOD NEWS…
Thursday afternoon, an investigator from the Secretary of State showed up at the Courthouse to see the system Sahari implemented for Signature Verification Watchers. He witnessed her blue-taped square on the floor where she placed the “Time-Out Chair” (my word), and the distance between the ballot envelopes from the chair. He couldn’t see a thing. He told Sahari to free up the Watchers to sit where they want, even if it means standing up to see the ballot signatures!!!! Blue tape gone, chair freedom! 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸🥳🇺🇸😳🇺🇸
She got taken to the wood shed! Sahari McCormick created her own restrictive rules to control the Watchers, thus preventing the voters from a completely fair process. She would be fired if it were up to me… but somebody elected her. Elections have consequences!
FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS OF THE ELECTION, WE GOT TRUE SIGNATURE VERIFICATION! Woo hoo! 😡 I’m so glad I took the pictures of that office showing her restrictions, because I just don’t know if anyone would have come up to stop it!
BAD NEWS…Sahari wasn’t professional enough to apologize for her overreach and reinstate me to serve my one shift - Watching ballot counting on Election Day. She just can’t do the right thing. She called the cops on me! She was willing to have me ARRESTED for asking to see ballot envelopes in the course of my service as a Watcher!!!! She should be ashamed. Not likely.
I’ll try and take the high road and leave it at this - IT FEELS GREAT TO KNOW SHE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO THAT AGAIN! Praise God! I try to keep remembering God loves her. I am supposed to, also, but I’m a flawed human being that’s ticked off that our elections are subject to people with hidden agendas. It’ll take some time, I think. Please forgive me.
