Those who had ballots returned (for various reasons) have until July 3 to “cure” their ballot and return it to the County Clerk’s office. After that, we will have official totals.

According to the unofficial results, the winner of the hotly-contested County Commissioner race in District 1 is …

            MARIE MORNIS!

Congratulations, Marie!  We wish you well into the General Election on November 5!

Steve & Marie Mornis on election night…

If you’d like to meet like-minded people in the County, check out the next monthly meeting of the Gilpin County Republican Committee.

Their meeting is normally held on the first Thursday of each month. July 4 is the first Thursday, so the date had to be changed.

The GCRC meeting will be at 7 p.m. the following Thursday, July 11.  Because the library is already booked, the meeting will be at the Gilpin County Arts Association (“The Gallery”) at 117 Eureka Street in Central City (across from the Opera House).

That meeting is going to be a very, very interesting meeting on topics that will affect you and your family.

Or, choose the Gilpin County Democrats…they meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Gilpin Library generally, but here is their current post from their Facebook page…THEY MEET TOMORROW!!!

We hope to see you at our meetings, because TOGETHER we can change the world!

Let’s start with Gilpin County!
